This stunning copper and brass Read & Campbell “Petrolex” fire extinguisher is stamped all over with King George V markings. The Petrolex extinguisher was named for its ability to extinguish petrol fires and were installed in British royal households and vehicles from 1911 onwards. We love the unusual dial on the front which can be turned to adjust the nozzle to the desired angle. This is a rare item and has been lovingly restored, without over-polishing, and sensitively converted into a gorgeous, quirky table lamp.
This product has now been sold, but we have plenty more on offer elsewhere in our online store and also lots of stunning items just waiting for conversion. Call or email us and we can send you some examples of our stock for you to choose from. Every quirky find is hand crafted using vintage and antique pieces into high end lighting in our Suffolk workshop.
