Designer Sergio Terzani created the metal leaf lamp design. This lamp has been restored for a client.
Designer Sergio Terzani, this fascinating leaf lamp in pink was brought to us in a rather sorry condition. After straightening the damaged leaves and repairing the weak points we rewired the lamp with our clients chosen flex and in-line switch.
Lighting restoration and rejuvenation is both an art and a science, bringing new life to vintage and contemporary fixtures alike. At George Juniper Lighting, we specialise in the meticulous process of restoring all types of lighting pieces, from intricate chandeliers that sparkle with history to modern desk lamps that reflect contemporary design trends. Let us illuminate your space with restored brilliance!
George Juniper Lighting is a Suffolk-based, family-operated company devoted to the restoration, enhancement, and creative renewal of lighting in all its forms. Known for delivering the highest quality renovations, repairs, rewiring, and rejuvenation processes, the company works across an exceptional spectrum of pieces, from large and intricate period chandeliers to understated desk lamps and everything in between. Each project is approached with a deep respect for craftsmanship, design heritage, and the role lighting plays within a space.
Lighting is fundamental to interior design, shaping how rooms are experienced and how architecture, furniture, and art are perceived. At George Juniper Lighting, this understanding informs every decision made in the workshop. A restored or reimagined lighting piece does more than illuminate; it enhances proportion, atmosphere, and balance within a room. Thoughtfully designed and carefully positioned lighting can lift the presence of furniture, draw attention to artwork, and reveal architectural details that might otherwise remain unnoticed. The team appreciates that a single chandelier or lamp can transform the character of a space, bringing warmth, drama, or calm depending on its form and finish.
The company’s highly skilled craftspeople are central to achieving these outcomes. With extensive experience across traditional and contemporary lighting, they possess the technical knowledge and creative sensitivity required to realise the true beauty in each design. Period chandeliers are carefully dismantled, cleaned, repaired, and rewired to meet modern standards while preserving their original elegance. Decorative elements are restored with precision, ensuring that the piece continues to complement the surrounding interior rather than overpower it. Equally, smaller lamps and functional lighting are rejuvenated with an understanding of how they interact with furniture, textures, and colour schemes within a room.
George Juniper Lighting’s dedicated Suffolk workshop is a place of focus and excellence. Each piece is individually assessed, not only for its structural and electrical condition, but also for its visual impact and potential within an interior setting. Finishes, proportions, and materials are considered in relation to how the lighting will sit within a building, whether that is a historic country house, a refined modern interior, or a carefully curated commercial space. This holistic approach ensures that lighting contributes to the overall aesthetic of a room and enhances the integrity of the building itself.
Interior design considerations are woven throughout the restoration and renovation process. The team understands that lighting can frame furniture, highlight craftsmanship in wood or upholstery, and create depth and contrast within a space. Art, in particular, benefits from carefully restored and positioned lighting, as subtle changes in tone and direction can dramatically alter how a piece is experienced. By refining the quality and character of lighting, George Juniper Lighting helps clients elevate the visual dialogue between light, art, and interior architecture.
Client experience remains a defining aspect of the company’s ethos. Many lighting pieces carry emotional, historical, or artistic significance, and the team treats each one with care and respect. Open communication, expert guidance, and a collaborative approach ensure that clients feel confident throughout the process. The aim is not only to restore a lighting piece, but to enhance how it lives within a space and contributes to the client’s environment.
As a family-operated business, George Juniper Lighting is built on long-standing values of trust, pride, and dedication to craft. Every project reflects a commitment to excellence and an appreciation of lighting as both a functional necessity and a powerful design element. Through sensitive restoration, skilled rejuvenation, and an interior-focused perspective, George Juniper Lighting ensures that cherished lighting pieces continue to enrich rooms, buildings, furniture, and art—bringing beauty, presence, and atmosphere to spaces for generations to come.
